Asia Cup 2008: Somethings Gotta Give!

India has not beaten Pakistan in the Asia Cup since 1988!

Pakistan has not beaten India at the National Stadium in Karachi since 1983!

Something definitely has to give in today's Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India.

Barring a TIE ofcourse!

I have never seen 300 being chased so easily.

With just two pacers and one spinner what else one can expect, the team was demoralized and derailed today when Umar gul left the field.

was pak playing with only on bowler then wasim?

though it did hurt pak but thats no excuse...the bowling looked/was more pathetic than so called minnows...

by 75th over the match was as good as over and as q said i too have never seen 300 being ridiculed that way...

    SP

Malik got retired hurt, Umar gul also left, Gul is the main strike bowler, it demoralized the whole team,I am not taking any thing away from India they batted superbly what I am trying to say is if Pakistan had any chance it was lost when Gul and Malik were ruled out for bowling.
The last match Pakistan won against India was the score was also around 300.

yes wasim...they really miseed malik bowling...of late malik is single handedly winning matches for pak from his bowling only...

Thats not the point SP, you cannot defend a score of 300 with just three main bowlers on a flat track against a batting lineup like India.

I am not saying that India couldn't have won the match if Gul and Malik were bowling, only saying that the match wouldn't have been so one sided.

It's not that Indian team has become invincible as you are trying to suggest through you sarcasm the same team Pakistani team defeated them recently, for an even contest you need to be at your full strength.

Well I tend to agree with Wasim. SP, I have never seen 300 being chased so easily ever in an ODI. Never.

And again, not to say that India wouldnt have done it otherwise - maybe they would have got there in the 49th over and won by 3 wickets or something but with only Tanvir, Iftikhar, and Afridi as the bowling options - it seemed like a cakewalk for India :-)

And they did the same to Bangladesh last night. India's looking very strong!
