It happens in Pakistan too... but I think the reaction in India is a bit more passionate than in Pak...
I mean u won't see effigy burning in Pak, but then u won't even see the players being treated as heroes the way the Indian team were when they won the 2007 World T20, through parades and stuff...

Q, we have seen some pics where Umar Gul and Boom Boom were paraded in open vehicle when they respectively went to their home towns.
The reaction this time in India were quite subdued except few stray incidents which were outcome of some small time political leaders trying to gain mileage.
Gul and Afridi got out of their cars to wave to their fans when leaving the airport.. it wasn't an official parade something like the BCCI had organized when India won the 2007 WC...
Maybe that didn't happen cos of the security issue in Pakistan.. but I do feel that Indian fans are more passionate in their reactions than Pakistani fans are...

This is natural in the sub-continent Q. Cricketers came under heavy criticism here after the World T20 loss.
The fanatics just follow the games for results. They go overboard when the team wins and they burn effigies when the team loses.
