    Q

Sorry this is unrelated to the current thread, but please can you do a thread on Malik's unprofessionalism and reluctance to appear in the Presentation Ceremony after the defeat at Sri Lanka's hands?

He is a finger spinner and uses the the same technique which normally tape role bowlers use to spin in Pakistan, I am amazed how he can bowl with a cricket ball using that technique and that too with such accuracy.

He is going to break all the records.

It seems there is a crisis in the PCB. Journalists were angry after Lawson was rude in the press conference and Malik refused to speak to anyone.

If the PCB has any spine they should discipline Malik because of this unacceptable behaviour.

First he drops a good batsman Fawad and picks up a 2nd leg spinner Mansoor because he is scared if he chooses Saeed Ajmal, the batting might appear too weak because Mansoor can bat a bit. But Mansoor showed poor technique and was dismissed cheaply.

Then Malik chooses to bowl first. Everyone said this was insane. Basically he is a defensive person and he has spent his whole captaincy tenure playing politics and trying to defend his stature as captain. He was thinking that if Pakistan bowl second Sri Lanka would hammer them badly, especially the likes of Jayasuria and Sangakkara, just like how Raina and Sehwag did in the match vs India. This would also most certainly mean Mansoor Amjad would come out with very expensive figures which would put Malik in the spotlight for dropping Fawad.

And then this scheming idiot refuses to attend the Presentation Ceremony! This is UNPROFESSIONALISM and INDISCIPLINE. He should be removed from captaincy as he knows nothing about what leadership means.

How many runs did Afridi gave in 10 overs 54, how many wickets he took zero, how many runs he made a big donut.

Mansoor playing his first match took one wicket gave away 44 runs in his 8 overs and scored 5 runs.

How many runs did Fawad Alam gave in his last match 64 in 7 overs an econ rate of 9.14.

How many runs Afridi gave in his last match, 64 in 10 overs, took only 1 wicket.

I can't understand why only Mansoor Amjad is being criticized while others are being portrayed as victims.

Q, I'm amazed at Sri Lanka's ability to throw up freak bowlers...Murali, Malinga and now Ajantha...

4 a captain the point is not abt scoring a few runs in a couple of matches, 4 a captain it is very, very important to win against decent strong opposition and not just against minnows, how many times malik as a captain has won against strong opposition? kitply cup? why? 'coz yunus khan scored a fast century. last year in India pakistan lost odi and test series under malik the only two odi were won, why? coz malik was not captain younus was. they won against bangladesh and zimbabwe but lost odi and test at home against SA.

against bangladesh three days ago if fawad alam and tanvir had not built-up a decent partnership they would have lost that match so consider that win had fawad alam's hand in it along with tanvir. the obvious reason which a pea brain is unable to comprehend is, mansoor amjad is playing 'coz he is from malik's chak panchwinja and there is no other reason did you see any spark in that guy? he is also like the same other guy who was hammered for 88 runs in 9.2 overs bowled 2 beamers whats his name? its a shame that pak cricket is not free from petty politics and they proudly call themselves top pakis when the time comes to face the world they hide behind their coach and the coach is so arrogant that he confronts the media and creates a bad name for the country yet some dimwits stand up and ask I can't understand, what is the problem?

Thats true Som. Here's a wonderful piece on why Sri Lanka still manages to do that:

As for the discussion on Malik and Co. I'll do that in another post.

    Uncle J - that'll be quite difficult.

Sure the batsmen may start picking his varieties, but its one thing knowing whats coming your way, and another knowing what to do with it.

If Mansoor Amjad had been bowling to Sehwag and Raina I bet he would have been hammered for 100 runs in his 8 overs.

There is no comparison between his and Fawad's batting. Mansoor's batting is like Abdul Razzaq and Fawad is already being compared with Michael Bevan. In domestic cricket Fawad's statistics are better than Malik's, Younis's and some statistics are even better than Yousuf and Misbah.

Afridi has been the year's leading wicket taker and he was more economical than Mansoor in yesterday's game. The way Kapugedera was playing, he had started slogging blindly and anyone could have got his wicket. It wasn't a wicket taking delivery. So Mansoor looks like an overrated bowler to me.

Despite the best efforts of the Malik lobby I don't think Mansoor is a replacement for Fawad Alam.

for now, i'd like to see what he does to india. and not see what he does to bangla.
his success, tho unrelated, can only hasten amit mishra's entry into the team. who knows, even pak may play a fulltime spinner in odis.

That sure is a prediction Scorps. U need to see him. Youtube his name - he's quite a freak.

NC, I too would like to see him against India and Australia, both of whom who can dominate him.

How do u reckon he could help Amit Mishra? They both r very different nd Piyush Chawla is currenty doing a good job.

Q: hope for a chain reaction - in the sub cont at least. Demand for ace spinners and not just can also bat+bowl spin players.

From what I've seen of Chawla he dominates non-sub cont team with far greater aplomb. Also, is still not the finished article, almost a McGill like problem with accuracy; Mishra, on the other hand, has more control of his craft. Only, nobody seems to want him, not even his skipper from the IPL games.
Bhajji's break was a chance India never took.

Also, if quicks can be rotated, why not spinners?

  16. Q said...

U have a point NC. Dhoni did that recently by giving Ojha a game instead of Chawla.

I agree SP - that'll be one great battle. Best upcoming spinner vs best players of spin.

Fawad Alam being compared to Bevan lol, why because he scored a 50 against Bangladesh?
Do you think Sangakara and Jayasuriya are lessor batsmen than Raina?
You are just trying to start an argument for the sake of argument.
