Murali Lives to Tell the Tale

It happened again today.

For the umpteenth time in the last fortnight or so I have heard: "Muralitharan needs x wickets to get past Wasim Akram and become the leading wicket taker in ODIs".

I was reminded of that by at least 5 different sources today.

Will he get there already.

Please Murali, I know the Indian batsmen are great but please, please get to the record.

I can't bear listen to that statement again.

Just do it already.

Cricinfo's link to the Tony Greig show includes this quote:

    "Sri Lanka need M&M magic"

Hmmm, M&Ms, where have I heard that before???

Of course followers of the game eagerly wait for the moment and hype the feat. Top wicket taker in both forms, no mean achievement indeed.

In my opinion he could become the Viv Richards of Pakistan.

As Imran Khan famously quoted : "If Imran Nazir was born in a a devloped nation like Austrlia he would have been the greatest batsmen alive".

I agree Som, quite an achievement. But I'm tired of hearing about it. Just get it done and over with.
