McGain Debuts!

I can't tell you how excited I am to watch another Australian leg spinner play on the big stage.

Moreso when the leggie is from Victoria!

There's something about leggies isn't there?

There's a buzz when they're bowling.

And you expect something to happen every ball they bowl.

We'll probably have to wait till the 2nd day to watch McGain with the ball, but it should be worth the wait.

A hearty congratulations to my fellow blogger, Uncle J Rod of Cricket with Balls, who has probably been waiting for this day since he started blogging. Or maybe longer.

Hope its been worth the wait Jrod!

Adil Rashid has been waiting patiently for his England debut. Now the time is ripe for him to be granted with the honour as England’s woeful winter descends further calling for a fresh and promising change. Especially with such an eventful and anticipated summer around the corner England should have no hesitation to experiment in youth and open the doors for player competition.

Although Adil’s bowling performance in the recent practice match was nothing to write home about surely the threat and mystery of a leg spinner operating overweighs an orthodox off spinner claiming casual figures of 10-0-1-40. To consolidate my point England should plan efficiently for the future rather than focusing on short term replacements. Also Adil can bat and field very well which is a factor that has to come into consideration in the limited over’s format.

On the whole he is a unique prospect who’s got the potential to turn the tables on the fate of English cricket. Therefore I recommend the ECB and Andrew Strauss to invest and provide him with a worthwhile run in the international arena. So that’s where I stand on the Rashid situation. Yes groove him in ASAP

This was an extract from MAZA786 and yeah u have correctly stated that leg spinners are a pleasure to watch and there's always that buzz , mystery and intensity there when there in operation.Yeah Australian leg spinners turn their leg breaks miles from leg to off beyond and also have top spinners , zooters and sliders in there armoury. Pakistan have got the best leg spinners when u consider the potent googly such as Mushtaq Ahmed , Abdul Qadir , Imran Tahir etc . They are also the king of doosra's as well as the wrong 'un.

Q, third ball from McGain went for six by an Ashwell Prince special. But it might be too early to tell. Of late, there's been more buzz (and less of anything else) from the new Aussie bowlers - esp the spinners.

Remember that guy Kreza, who picked up 7 or 8 on a day when India were just slogging their way. Where is he now?

    Cheers mate.

Kraza was unfortunate to be dropped after picking up 12 wickets in his last test in India.

Bryce has always been Australias no1 spinner till he got his shoulder injury.

I hope he gets some wickets today.

That didnt happen SP but looks like the Saffers are going to injure him!

yes Maza, Adil is a talent England shud not be ignoring.. I thought he shud have played the tests but then with 5 lefties in wi's top 6, an off spinner was preferred..

Imran Tahir will be playing for South Africa soon..

VM, I dont know why the Aussies ignored Krejza.. he had a promising debut.. 12 in his 1st match.. McGain was the 1st choice in India as well but he got injured.. Prince and Kallis have really gone after him.. if he can come back from this, he might add to his 1 test..

    Damith looks unlikely right now..

dropping Krezja was a mistake, reckon he'll be back for the ashes, and if siddle plays then, can see the two of them dng their bit.

McGain was, to warp a phrase, out of the zone. and for that, i blame ricky, who else
