OK, initial shock over.
I actually like it.
Love the top-menus with auto drop-down.
And the fact that there's more breadth.
Theres too much going on on the homepage!
Plus, it's a bit too Modi-fied (as in Lalit Modi)...they've squeezed an advert in every little space.
It slower and some pages don't even load.
Sad
and espnstar.com still seem to maintain a separate "cricket" section!
@stani: Actually, I thought the ads were less in-your-face than the old CI.
Plus, it's loading blazing fast (not that CI was slow, except for overloaded matches like T20 WC final).
Would expect lots of links to be broken for a short while - pretty standard when making wholesale changes.
Modi-fied? Hmmm, not sure about that. All sport is commercial now, so I don't see CI as being much different.
However, if they start saying something like:
Misbah-ul-Haq 34* (19m, 26b, 2x4, 3xDLF), then I will really start getting worried!!!
Sledge, I actually quite liked it.. there r lesser ads now.. the video link is good.. always needed more..
The drop down menus as u said are very thorough.. and now they have a 2009 stats link.. always wanted that!
dig the drop menus too.
Just too much MSD for half a pg - first that dumbass aircel ad, then that engaged mug of his.
Anyway it's sharper page alright.
I'm liking it more and more. The tabbed scorecards are awesome.
Somehow I find the ads less intrusive on the new format. (probably shouldn't say that too loud!)
NC: definitely sharper!
Sledge: I loved the tabbed scorecards too.. so easy to move from full to commentary to stats.
The new CI is definitely better..
Change of title to this post, u think? :-)
Stani....I hope cricinfo is not getting inspired by Lalit Modi - else after every three clicks there will be a strategy (ad) break.
Anyways haven't been on cricinfo in ages. I get my news from wellpitched.com nowadays :-)
Cheers Rayden!
re: ad breaks after 3 clicks - Hahaha!! Good one!
@Q: Nah, leave the title as-is.
Great demonstration of how our perceptions evolve so quickly in this bloggy-blog world! :)
Well, I don't know about the future, but right now, I just hate it, I loved the CI format, It'll take some time for me to get used to it, I'm missing CI.
Asim: its just the initial inertia that u faced when facebook changed, gmail changed, etc.. u'll get used to it..
