Will SriLanka end the Aussie Campaign? Will Bangladesh Go Through?
I sort of disappeared after the Pakistan loss last night and strangely slept way more than I usually do.
When I returned, 12 hours later, I found that my facebook profile had turned into my blog with comments from everyone about Pakistan's performance.
Naturally, I responded to everyone there, just like I do here on Well Pitched.
I wonder why my facebook friends don't come and comment here and choose to infiltrate my wall :-)
Anyhow, enough has been said about Pakistan's performance and its time we moved on to the next set of games at the ICC World Twenty20.
Big games tonight.
The Bangladesh vs Ireland one is practically a knock out game with the winner garanteeing a spot in the Super 8s and the other garanteeing a flight back home.
You don't expect Ireland to upset India and cause jitters in this group, do you?
Yeah, I thought so.
England have joined South Africa and New Zealand in the Super 8s; can Sri Lanka do the same by ending Australia's 20-20 campaign?
Its a big game for the Australians.
They face an inglorious exit if they lose, but knowing the Aussies, they are going to come very hard tonight.
Harder than the English did last night.
Yeah maybe I'm still not over that.
Strange things happen in this T20 format of cricket, but it doesn't stop us from making calls on the game, so here are my picks for tonight:
Bangladesh over Ireland, Australia over Sri Lanka.
Just so that you know, all my calls have gone wrong thus far.

I would chose Bangladesh over Ireland as well based on team srengths...but a part of me wants Ireland to win, coz that would shut out B'desh completely and mean that even if India lose to Ireland(!), they would be through...but that's probably not the ideal scenario :) B'desh would be worthier opponents in the Super 8s a.c.t. Ireland methinks
B'desh 84/5 in 14.2 overs. Unless Ireland batting implodes, I think B'desh are on their way out.
Megha,
Looks like the Deshi boys are packing up..
Som,
Looks like that to me too.. but who knows, maybe the Deshi spinners will be a handful.
They've managed a decent total...let's see if their bowlers can win this for them....
Shakib's on.. his spell is key.. if he doesn't pick up any the Irish are going through..
Ireland and Australia to go through. Ozzies senti favorites. Ireland for their show of grit and mind. BD didnt show any logic or plan like Pakistan in both games.
I also experienced a Pakistan cricket depression Q!
Only if the players felt as bad hey?
Sam,
Even if Australia win they will have to wait for the result of the SL-WI game to see if they go through..
Ireland are through though.
Stani,
If only.. the players, I hear, were partying away somewhere in Soho
Soho? that's where the gays hang out. Serious.
